my 6500rpm prob

When i bought mine i had the same problem.
The guy who sold it to me said that it was because when the car is imported it is limited back to 6500 rpm (i know this is true in the UK not sure about aus) so i thought nothing of it and enjoyed the car. 3 weeks later the alternator decided it was going to spike so i had it replaced.
To my extreme joy and excitement the car then proceded to rev past 6500rpm and rev limiter kicked in at 8000 instead (when out of cold mode).
So my assumption would be that the alternator has an issue and will probably need replacing. cost me $650 from a bunch of useless W*****s who cant even tell when they leave a gaskett of the exhaust system and it sounds like a v8.
