oh well looks like i melted a piston. bottom end looks ok but there a few bits of alumium floating around the inlet and exhaust manifolds. Will know for sure when the heads come off.
too much boost, well will take some pics of it as she is being rebuilt.
will have a clutch forsale if anyone interested is in good condition done less than 1000 Kms and will hold in a normal FTO no problem at all.
talking to daiken and they will build me a twin plate.

dayaaam....!! that's just too bad... 18psi on stock VR4 rods may be asking for a little' too much hey?
...oh well, not to fret - you still have a TT Supra to drive in, so it's all good!

Did you get that other 6a13 from kempy's?
Guess she wouldn't be rebuilt and rerady to go in yet hey?
And was it too much boost or not enough fuel, I would think the latter from your point of view. OH well guess you will need a couple of NOS injectors to fix that......
Damn, now i gotta rethink or I will never be quicker.

to much boost and also i think not enough fuel.
the engine aint the problem I got a spare one sitting here waiting to go in and the blown one will be getting the full rebuild and will be aiming at 600 Hp at the front wheels, then we will watch the gearbox, CVs and drive shafts to see which one goes bang first.
Just being held up by the clutch as have to make a custom flywheel and still looking at a couple of options for the clutch.

600hp at the front wheels is just a little toomuch, have you though about goin awd/rwd ? one of the models of the galants aparently havethesame floor plan, and it may not be that hard

not hard at all when you've got the money to begin with...
btw, in case those of you who don't realise, this is going to be a track car, not a daily driver (wheelspinning on all 5 gears during boost is not exactly an ideal daily driver LOL), so it'll need as much mumbo as it needs to run some low times!!

well yea it is aimed at being a track car and a daily driver, it will be interesting how long it will last between breakdowns
I want a 10 second FTO but i want to keep it front wheel drive, if they can do low 8 second passes in front wheel drives in the USA we should be able to get a FTO to do 10's
besides if i went rear wheel drive i would drop a V8 in it and get rid of the front wheel drive all togeather.
Still that can be another project later if I can find a good FTO shell at the right price.
If anyone see a good FTO shell with all the panels on it and no structual damage let me know

Or maybe one with the roof missing?
As for track v's daily driver, the only difference is your right foot, or maybe there is no differece....

(unless there are major suspension mods)

the most noticable differance is that damn clutch,
getting a clutch that can hold the power usually means that it looses a lot of the drivability in city traffic
the clutch becomes like a lite switch either on or off

*nods* it is possible to ride a heavy single plate clutch but I have no idea about twin plates =)
Problem is, with those clutches, you've got less material on the clutch face plate than on a standard clutch so it'll wear out faster regardless.
That's why I work 11-7 . . . I hate peak hour in my car . . . I'd kill the clutch in a matter of weeks if I had to go through start-stop traffic =)

the main problem with twin plates is you cant ride them because they will heat up and then they warp and get hot spots and slip easier. They are either on or off, but i think i have a solution, still trying to find a suitable clutch that will fit into the available space. looks like i might be using a tilton race clutch.
