Can anyone help me find a used or U/S clutch assembly for the FTO.

I am currently in communication with AP Racing and if I can supply them a sample Clutch Assembly for the FTO they will Develop a twin Plate system to suit the FTO.

They are in The Uk so if some one there has a old clutch assembly that is clutch plate flywheel and pressure plate they are not using. please could we borrow it so we can get a twin plate clutch made. I am sure that any of us that are looking at doing some very serious performance mods will benifit from this in the future.

Others in the FTO community could benifit from this so your help will be very much appreciated

Hey Dannyboyau

Is this the same AP racing that does the brakes. If so why don't we ask them to also develop a brake kit for the FTO?

Hey Elmo

Found out some information about the 6A13 bottom end seems it is much stronger than the 6A12 bottom end

well i was actually talking to a couple of guys that are right into the performance motors and they told me that mitsubishi Nitrides all the turbo crankshafts, and i have been told in the past that the main problem you get with motors doing the bottom end is caused by detonation (pinging). if it is tuned properly and you dont let the fuel lean out, and you dont stress the motor with to much boost you should be fine. I am running mine at 18 Lb boost and she runs like a dream, just need to sort out the clutch.

at least untill i find a set of spares so when they do go bang i can just change them over

Given my clutch status would say the flywheel is nackered or need skimming. Will be in touch when she comes out mate.
Skippers comin 2day to do the quote. Damn panel beater wont take it until it runs so he doesnt have to push it.

Hey Elmo

When skippers come, get them to quote on a new flywheel and clutch and pressure plate.

Then i can borrow it, so hopefully can match up an existing twin plate from another mitsi.

Or at worst will turn up with a ruler while they have got it out, dont forget to give ray a ring as he has done a lot of work to the FTO and i know he has a set of head gaskets sitting there waiting to be used. They had a nice white tiptronic one on the hoist the other day when i was there, doing some work to it.

He has done a bit of work on the FTO but mostly warranty work for car yards, well and what we did to mine, would have been lost with out his technical expertise and welding, well i can weld but he didnt want me to use the welder. LOL

Give us a call on the weekend and will drop over and have a look at your FTO

will ask fred next time i see him as that fto is his

who knows hopefully he might be able to supply them if anyone is interested, then again they might have come from japan like that.

But i know fred has done quite a few things to his car himself and it does look great, he actually got some high brake light masks he sells for 15 AUD so maybe with a bit of luck he can get the rear light covers made up

and the red FTO i think you can buy that as a sticker and stick it into the FTO recess will try and find the website that sells them, i know that they can be bought from the UK but someone might know of someone selling them in Australia

Ok found the website in the UK it is funky product and they sell them in several differant colours, here is a link to there website.

yeah i have seen them on an fto befor,e they look alright inthe photo, but they just look like they have been painted on in flesh
