Whistling sound confirmed!

Only happens when accelerating hard at mid rev range.

Fitted mine myself , the sound is good (although mine has a Ralliart system any way, it just improves it) and I get a greater throttle response at arounrd 3-4 thousand and a bit more power.

you may find that the rear gasket is worn out a good mechanic will change it :)

we had to change mine (mainly cause we pulled on and off so many times ) as it was worn out... sounds a lot better once we did that.

im thinking of doing some exhaust mods....

is it ok to start my exhaust mods with changing the front pipe first... then cat and then catback exhaust?

How much is the front pipe now?

Finally had mine fitted today, $40 at Jack Beedham exhaust in Brisbane. Very big change in the note of the zorst now and I must say I don't like it. It sounds like a whipper snipper when I let the throttle off anywere above 3500rpm.

The performance increase is obvious this could be mainly because the original pipes were heavily damaged (dents) on the lowest point it had clearly had a big knock in it's previous life.

Anything I can do to tone down the raspy ness?

:D Yes - had mine of for a few months now (and have recently added the CAI as well) - I've got a GPX tip. Definitely worth it.

If you go onto the UAS site (www.nismo.com.au) - they have actually posted up my dyno from the initial tests without it and then with it fitted...
.. actually - here;s the link http://www.nismo.com.au/pricelists/Gene ... esdyno.gif

I like the noise it makes- and now that I've added the CAI its slowly getting even noiser.... doing shocks at the moment - but after that I'll be upgrading the rest of the exhaust to make it louder :P

Cheers

Steven,

I have finally picked up the filter kit up from UAS ( only took me 4-5 months) and have fitted it, it has made a good improvement I guess that I now have the 99.1 KW @ the wheels that we measured on my car on the Dyno Day.

Looking forward to the next cruise , have taken the car off the market.

Hey can anyone tell me how come this mod wont work on the GX? I read a flange had to be replaced or something....is it something fairly easy? I'm interested in getting one but not if it wont fit/give me any more power. Thanks 8)

It cna be used, but oon the non mivecs, the flange from the pipe to the cat is slihtly smaller then the mivecs, you can also replace the cat and use the pipe though

Wheee thread resurection...

Seriously now.....any of these still lying around Steve??

I rang up the local exhaust shop asking for a quote on CAT back systems as well, trying to establish how much the whole exhaust system would cost.....they quoted me $1250.00 for twin CAT (mandrel bent).

Now for just the CAT back that sounds quite expensive :?
