Yeah spetz, if you could ask charlie to do that that would be a good start. Or at least see what he thinks. Or, I could get bit of graseproof paper and "trace" the top of the hyundai block if you know what I mean?
Nacho, an alloy block isn't quite as strong as an iron one. In the states, golden eagle takes honda blocks, then rips out the oem sleeves and replaces them with thicker, stronger iron ones. That's a good way to go if you want run a lot of boost on an alloy engine.
I should be able to get it in the next couple of weeks- although I've honestly got so many things to do at the moment it's not even funny. Still, I think a 2.7 mivec is more important than any of these things.

I think you can actually buy full iron Honda blocks too droidy, for REAL high boost ;)

Anyway, just reading on the new Lancer/Evo (2008) and still using the 4G63 but in full alloy
It weighs 30kg less than the old iron 63

Quite a difference that's for sure. So maybe this alloy engine would weigh about 45ish kg less than a 6A12
And then, you'd expect though a 6A12 to only weigh about 20ish kg more than a 4G93
Which, considering a well setup 1.8 Lancer can handle awesome, it's not such an issue i think

I'll follow this up (hyundai 2.7 frank) for those that are interested, but I'm building a k20 ek hatch now. :? If the 2.7 alloy worked, with a typer ratios, yeah it would cane. But a k20 hatch, with a hondata, and maybe a k24 bottom end with titanium rods etc down the line- it's a proven formula you know. But yeah, I'd love an r33 gtr. And the new Audi R6. OMFG the R8 8O
So many rad cars, but the best bang for you're buck for na performance is simply to get a k20. Then find a suitable chasis to fit it on. Period.

K20A in a Lancer coupe??
hmm...

NO I'm not putting the k20 in the lancer. In an ek hatch. Anyways, I have found a jdm k20a cheap CHEAP so I think I have to buy it  Actually, charlie from gpc has found a cheap nsx so I might ask him if he wants to sell one of his cars... maybe the puple ek hatch with supercharged b18..
Anyways, back to the topic at hand, have just ordered a g6ba (hyundai) gasket that should be ariving at gpc next week. Charlie is going to line it up against the mivec heads/block to see how far off it is. He thinks with a custom cnc'd plate between block/head (MAYBE 1 K?) it could work. Then we gotta tackle pistons. Cross that bridge when we come to it. So stay tuned, will update next week. :o

I think the EK Civic is a B20 and I thought he swapped to turbocharger yet again on it?
Anyway... hard to keep track of what Charlie does to his cars ;)

Man... alloy block...
Pistons...
Too much money for a lancer. It'll be awesome but I have decided I am giving up

I am procrastinating to call Charlie though, to tell him to just put it all together and put it into the car. Yes, stock internals, stock 2L
Stuff it man I can't be bothered any more

This car is taking control of my life... every decision I make seems to revolve around my car.

I am looking for a new place to live, and the #1 priority is what type of garage the house has to put it in... damn...

Damn! Car taking over your life? Not good man. Well we got the Hyundai gasket and Charlie has four words to say. EEM POSS EE BULL. It would work like modyfying a b20 block- except the head studs don't line up. Basically, the hyundai head studs sort of half over lap the mivec ones... I dunno, does anyone have any imput into this? Charlie reckons it's immpossible to alter/ redrill anything- fill and redrill??!?! It's not something that can be done half way. Ok so I guess it would be possible somehow.... but at what cost. Maybe- maybe, the alloy block would fit up to the diamante mivec heads easier (6GG74)??? Not sure anymore.

Spetz, Charlies puple ek hatch has built b18 9.5:1 jackson racing supercharger running 6 psi, 5zigen supension, type r tranny bars blah blah 5 stud s2000 wheels... putting same recaros in and sell for 23k. Took me for a spin last week and it's pretty immpressive. Yeah he's like we're giiving him headach cause we never call him and say what we're doing. He wants to put f20 in my car  I'm like maybe c30 haha. Plus I hear your friend putting k24 on the eg. Now that's how you do it. Scary fast and na.
Yeah, I migh't just slap a stocko 6a12 with an lsd box and be done with it. Still fun. Plus you can always tweak it later- haltech etc... and I think I'll bump it to 11.1 and try and get under hood temp down- carbon hood or a vent, aluminium radiator blah blah.... that will do I think. F*%kin sick of this to be honest.

And yes I realise c30 would be immpossible, 90 degree v6 as opposed to the 60 degree config of the mitsus. If you search you'll find v6 accord engines in ef's and such- I saw a deathtrap ek hatch with a j30 8O (SOHC 3.0 accord motor I think) cut off the top of the radiator support to fit!!!!!! Maybe work as a drag car but obviously not very streetable (READ lrgal). I think a big displacement fwd v6 car is damn cool... with the hondas being 90 degrees it doesn't work for a street car (anyone seen the signal choptop c32 fwd ek hatch?) but for mitsus with 60 degree engine, it seems more feasible. But a v6 tends to be heavy obviously- so lose again for anything but drag. So if all alloy it's an advantage..... but no mivec not good!!! (I mean I could just put a stock tiburon motor on there but stuff that!!! So you want v6, all alloy, big displacement and mivec? I think there's an answer- the new outlander engine! But sohc only!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the jdm variants have dohc somewhere..... back to the research- again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x

ok so here's the specs..

ENGINE CODE: 6B31

Specifications
Engine type — V6 cylinder SOHC 24v, MIVEC
Displacement — 2998 cc
Bore — 87.6 mm
Stroke — 82.9 mm
Compression ratio — 9.5:1
Power — 164 kW (223 PS) at 6250 rpm
Torque — 279 N·m (204 ft·lbf) at 4000 rpm

Ok so it's sohc (so not ricy appeal) But that's some pretty immpressive specs 8O And I think it's 60 degree config. All aluminium. And if you wanna go nuts, you can still port and polish sohc heads right? And bump commpression, etc. Not sure on gearbox. Wouldn't scream to as high rpm (in standard form) but still, interesting idea.

6b** maybe very similar in design to 6a series??? Probably I'm guessing- the code 6b** sounds like 6a**- round 2. Or so I'd like to think. Maybe there's a twin cam version on the way? Or to look on the positive side- if you went mental on this motor- you'd only have to regrind 2 cams instead of four  Or- maybe the 6a12 heads will fit
I just wasted 100 bucks seeing if a hyundai 6gba gasket will line up with a 6a12 one. Now, if I want to waste more money I could-

1) Obtain a 6g74 gasket and see if that will line up with 6gba gasket (likely I think, but expensive motor- could end up with a v6 dohc all alloy engined lancer, but it wouldnt be a 6a12, it would be a 6g74/g6ba frank)

2) obtain a 6b31 gasket and see if that will line up with 6a12 mivec gasket (I DOUBT IT???! ).

3) fit stock 6b31 on the lancer with I don't know what gearbox and head to the strip. (First ever).

4) Chuck in stock version r setup and tweak with haltech etc over time. hmmmmmm

I got confused- 6g72 is 3.0 litre available in dohc mivec

6g74 is 3.5 litre available in dohc mivec too.

Does anyone consider these engines for swapping into an fto? Would fit somehow I think, iron block but powerful I think.
