depends what u mean by remove the engine.. generally you will remove most stuff from the engine bay at once out the top with a hoist which includes gearbox. can be seperated beforehand but yea
Gbox has to come off, drive shafts & hubs have to be removed to do so. I've found it easier to drop the box out from under the car, then pull the block out the top.

Yup, engine balances a load easier without the box attached.
basically most stuff... u need to take the intake off, the throttle bodies, radiator fans...
heaps of stuff so u can get the rope around it to lift it out... such a hassle

lol just invite superman and get him to lift it out for u.
took of radiator, air con condensor, compressor, p/s hoses, battery box & everthing that side of the eng bay so the g/b could move over, because the engine was never going back in it made things a lot easier
The ONLY thing that matters is HP at the wheels, with a 5 speed close box the engine will be constantly running between 6 & 8. currently running a 1300 push rod motor with 4 carbs so this WILL be a big increase in performance. The other big advantage in using a low torque engine is getting the G/B to live. The big high power cars (400hp plus from SR20s or gen 2s) use a locally made Albins box, at around $23000, WAY WAY outside my budget
