interior lights

Post by wookster »

Hi,

I just brought my first FTO yesterday and have noticed that around the digital climate control the buttons don't light up at night when the lights are on........is this normal or has a fuse gone?

Cheers

No this is not normal. There should be some backlight to the display.

Do you know which fuse i should change inorder to hopefully get the lights back?

I'm pretty wet behind the ears when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm not sure myself. But I remember someone on the forum (Dash) has changed the LEDs behind the display before.

I reckon give him a PM and he will probably be able to help you out.

You may also want to do a search for any messages Dash has posted on this Forum for some clues.

the surrond is really easy to take off and the globes are in these twist lock things that are also really easy to replace.

Hi,

If your other intrior lights work then I'll say it's got nothing to do with the fuse.

The fuse is a problem only when bulk of lights go out. For example if all your dahs lights go out, then the first thing you might want to check is the bulbs, and then the fuse. But it's only one side of the dash lights are gone then it's more like the builbs rather then the fuse.

The interior light fuse would be directly under the driver's side under the steering column on the door side. If you crawl down there and from you loor mat look up along the door you'll see a little black box with lots of little white boxes drawn on the cover. That's the fuse box.

And just in case you wonder, there is another fuse box under your bonet right next to your battery. Also will have lots of white boxes drawn on the cover. But this fuse box will be bigger in size and is for most of you electrical parts of the car like the radio etc..

Hope this helps,

cheers,
