FTO 1/4 Mile Times
Just wondering what 1/4 mile times you guys are getting over here, i am from the UK and average is in the 15s/16s, there is a table on www.mitsubishi-fto.net, but i think there is only one from here , ive just always wondered, can you specify what model and roughly what mods.
I have done a 14.60 in my FTO GR and hoping to go lower...
Thanks

96 FTO GPX Manual
Factory - 15.2 - cant remember speed
Current mods - 14.745 @ 92mph (Thats with pod, intake pipe, custom extractors, 2.5" zorst, Field Mivec controller - on 18s)
Even though mivec controller is a complete waist of time with current mods
Some stickyer tyres on my factory 16's would like to think id be good for at least a 14.6 (Wanting to beat a guy here in NZ I know who did a 14.5 in his twin turb GTO
)

Haha not even close - 205kw and somewhere around 1800kg factory - they got the name whale for a reason. Dont get me wrong they have potential - I test drove a lot cause I was going to get one before my FTO.khunjeng wrote:I twin turbo GTO will do high 12s stock.JayME wrote:96 FTO GPX Manual

matters which one your talking about but from memory the 4wd version stays with a GTR cos it has heaps of torque. however can't remember the numbers but low 5s rings a bell for the good one.JayME wrote:Haha not even close - 205kw and somewhere around 1800kg factory - they got the name whale for a reason. All these gizmos like Active spoilers and electric everything take their toll on the weight. The turbos on Gtos are smaller too I believe (td04 vs t28 or something?? cant remember)
And apart from that ive been at a drag strip with a guy I know running his and it did a 14.5

Anyways sorry to hijack the thread - be interested to see more FTO 1/4 times - also like 60ft times etc.

yeah your probably right. had a look and they are a mid 13s for the newer models. Add some boost and a zorst - dump the clutch on launch then your in the high 12s.
Here you go, stock I expect:
year, make, model, series, 0-100, 1/4mile
1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL 8.5 16.4
1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.3 13.8
1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.8 14.3
1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.3 14.0
1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.7 14.2
1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.4 13.5
1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 4.8 13.6
so there u go

Has anyone seen the new VE commodore, we had a SV6 come straight off the truck come in for a prederlivery, I work at the Holden dealership where I live, the SV6 has got a pretty good bodykit for stock.
the car looks a bit thinner but has huge flares on it, the rear suspention has change to a strut now, the battery is located in the boot, it basically looks more euro.
I have only seen the SV6, I've heard that the 6ltr V8 in the clubsport is suppost to have over 300kw, something like 340kw I can't remember the figures, but can do 0 - 100 in 3.5 sec if its got traction, this is what I've been told anyway.

3.5sec? none of the review i've read so far said its anywhere near high 4, or 340kw.bigpitty1 wrote:Has anyone seen the new VE commodore, we had a SV6 come straight off the truck come in for a prederlivery, I work at the Holden dealership where I live, the SV6 has got a pretty good bodykit for stock.

But yeah the SV6, SV8 and the SS V have the same bodykit & they look pretty hot IMO. According to Wheels mag, the VE is chasing BM, Merc & other euro in terms of handling & interior. Interior wise i agree, as its got the tradmark of W203 Mercedes C class & B7 Audi A4. I yet to drive one to see how good it is compare to the euro.
Heres some pics & pricing
