I will do one up when I do my timing belt, still waiting for my TAX return money, from the local mitsubishi dealer a timing belt is I think $298, but with a trade discount it is $220.

putting it wrong can cause you to have timing issues even out by 1 teeth and it would cause a loss in power... not recommended... ive heard even mechanics putting it on wrongly on ftos

i dunno just my 2c

A timing belt is sometimes a good thing to be left to the experts, cause I think in the workshop manual is says something about the valves can contact eachother if the cams are not in the correct position as well as hitting the piston.

But it isn't a difficult job, but a job that must be done correctly because you might just damage the whole engine... bend valves, put a valve through the pistons and other things.

im a mechanic and have changed my timing belt. not the most pleasant thingto change! getting the tensioner in and adjusted is the hardest thing, it says to use special tools in the manuals but it can be done without!
