Rims and lowering

Hey i know there's a heap of posts about rims etc and lowering and ive been reading thru them slowly but still not sure which should be done first??

Should i lower with my springs (apex) or should i get the rims put on first then lower? or is there absolutly no difference?

Put the rims first then have it lowered otherwise without realising you might drop the car to much and when you stick the rims on you'll be left with scrubbing (where the tyres hit the bodywork/plastic inner gaurds).

Problem with that is that just about every lowering spring for the FTO brings it down the same height - 40 odd mm at the front and 25mm at the rear. I'd proabably be lowering then seeing what wheels (and their respective offsets) fit. Otherwise you put nice wheels on, then lower it and it wont go... and end up having to buy something adjustable ($$$)

Yea i think the APEX springs did just that. I asked the shops and of course they gave me their best opinions in their own favour. suspension sed lower first whilst tyre place said i should fit rims then lower haha. i think ill go the lowering and then i guess they can adjust the tyre profile etc and stuff as u mentioned.

I want the Apex springs / was just about to buy them off Uk site for 99quid does anyone know where in AUS they sell them for similar pricing?

The ofset of the rims is extremely important. SO when u purchase your rims buy them from somewhere that knows their sh*t.U should be able to get 18's on her with the right ofset and tyre specs.
