One Red Paper Clip

Saw this on beyond tomorrow the other day.

A guy in Canada last year wanted to buy a house but didn't have the money so he came up with an idea, swap one red paper clip for a house. Took him a whole year but he finally got the house, swapped it for one ordinary red paper clip http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/

This is how it works;
He starts off with the paperclip, someone swapped something with him for the paperclip. He then uses that item to swap with another item and so on. Took him a year.
