MIVEC + handling + looks + fold-up mirrors (ok, I could live without the fold up mirrors).

- It's unique engine/exhaust note.

Nothing on the road sounds as nice as an FTO, or quite like it anyway.

- comfortable seats
- usable boot space
- the 8k redline
- schmick looking climate control which i get asked about all the time
- it's sexy curves and lines (ive been mistaken for an aston martin before)
- good interior design for it's time
- the fact that it's under-rated, and how I can surpise the commie-v6/xr6 (non turbo)/magna drivers at the lights
- did I mention the unique exhaust note?

Definitely the styling of the body and its uniqueness. When you compare the amount of FTOs to Supras and Skylines on the roads in Sydney, FTOs truly stand out. Has a low, wide stance too which makes it look like a true sports car. Have to agree with G1 on the engine/exhaust sound - it sounds aggressive yet serene without deafening your ears. Love the seats too!! 8)

for me, number one is its styling - it turns heads more often than a streaker on a footy match... i just can't think of a better looking car than the FTO within its price range plus they have so much potential styling-wise!

number 2 is performance - i must concede the MIVEC sound is very addictive, almost as addictive as listening to a boxer rumble (on the WRX). it goes pretty well for a FWD with good chassis dynamics and straightline performance... although these are things that can always be improved upon, they are just fine from the factory if you're not too fussed...

next on number 3 is its interior - very timeless and sporty, and almost cosy inside too... the seats are very comfortable and the cockpit makes me feel like i'm piloting a jet, yet it can get slightly claustrophobic sometimes esp when i have more than 2 passengers inside LOL...!!

I like it cause no one that i knew had one. The first time i saw it, i fell in love and havent changed my mind yet. When i talk to other people and i tell them what car i have, they respond in..........HUH?. But when they see it, it's more like..........UH.....OH.......OHHHHH YE  . Who cant say its the best all-round car out on the roads? how many problems do u get with any cars the same year.........especially when u thrash it as much?

Since mine is a bit more modified than standard, it gets more attention......but not too long ago i was one of those people with eyes glaring at these beuties....now its mine and i get all the attention :D

1. Handling (the lowering and strut brace certainly helps)
2. Mivec sound especially through 5Zeigen exhaust
3. Looks beautiful

And all of that for the price of a 5 year old commodore?

It's still the relative rarity that does it for me. I'm sick of seeing Supras, Skylines, Silvias, 180s etc all the time.

It is also that rarity that enables you to catch the attention of many drivers of cars that are (often) worth a lot more than an FTO. Especially BMW and Audi drivers in particular.

what about the not so obvious luxuries like seats that wrap around you and make you feel soooo comftable but yet ready to take any corner at any speed.
The Power windows, one quick flick up and the window goes all the way up or down, (My familly owns a Mirage, Lancer, Nimbus and my gf has a magna) and none of them go up !!
ummm The climant control is pretty cool too, with an eco function which is good if you are low on gas stuck on a freeway and its 30+ degrees. though this climant control is used in the luctury lancers and magnas.
The Exhaust is very exotic as everyone has said, no other car sounds like it mivec or non mivec the 6a12 is just a horny sounding block.
The 8k redline is also nice as everyone said, you put your foot down and at the change of every gear at 8k its ready to rev all the way back again very quickly.
a lot of peopole call the cars slow, but Give me any car with a 2l non-turbo engine that can do 0-100 in under 7 secs. I even give most v8s and turbo cars a run for their money, the na power to weight ratio is 2nd only to cars over 50k.
geeze i could post for ages

id have to say that fact that line 21 of em up in a row and they are incredibly good looking cars....even just one of em, but 21 adds that little extra ;)

Also when you park a dozen in a row at a set of traffic lights, 2 asian guys can be seen pointing, and counting them in awe ;)

Oh, and i cant forget the brilliant sound that a handful of fto's in a tunnel with the exhaust noise....incredible :)
