Mitsubishi Aus....capitalising on the import owner - again!

Post by Bennoz »

This is a good one - my clutch master cylinder is shot (I knew it was going) and it finally let go yesterday. Kempys want $189 & have it in stock - will be here in 2 days. I ring Northshore Mitsi for a price & too see if they had one in stock......

$445!!

I almost spat in the phone, refrained, and told the guy where I could get it for $189. He calmly replied "Yeah we, then you, get screwed by mitsi for import parts in this country."

To prove my theory I enquired about another part. I called back 20mins later & spoke to another guy - engine mounts (of which I also need.) $121 & $125 respectively for the 2 I enquired about. I said to the bloke, "Gee thats not as bad as I thought"... he replies "Its just an engine mount, common to the lancer & mirage"

I went to mitsubishi yesterday because I needed some replacement plastic studs that attach to the underside of the rear shelf. I thought... $2-3 at the most. For 5 tiny little plastic studs they wanted $48.70. 8O I think I'll be dropping by repco or autoone later this afternoon.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.
