yeah but no one is asking the real questions: why is the price so high (it is NOT because of supply or demand) and who is benefiting?

I love reading these threads...

the price of petrol in Australia is one of the lowest in the OECD. We also have one of the lowest taxed rates on petrol...so consider yourself lucky. Also the price in $AUS is roughly the same accross the world..its the amount of government tax that varies.

the price of oil has only risen 80% over the past 10 years...however the price of milk has risen like 250%...House prices have risen 700% since 1990 or something

So in reality...well u figure it out.

Turns out the government takes 60c out of every litre of fuel over here, and people are calling for the tax to be axed (which in my opinion is stupid!, they'd just put the cost of car regestration and Diesel road user charges up to compensate..... roads need building people!)

it now costs me $120 to fill to the brim.

what i am FUCKED off about is

1) the cost of oil has gone down
2) the $NZ has gone up

so why has the price of fuel gone up???!!!

f**king monopolies, just ripping people off, its time for the government to step in and make the fuel companies reason and prove their fuel price hikes... but it will never happen because the more the prices go up, the more the government benifits. bullshit, complete bullshit

also, if diesel is cheaper to manufacture than petrol, then why has it gone up 2c a litre more?
who are they trying to kid?????

diesel powered FTO anyone?

Yeah i filled at $1.49 today......the only dam thing that NSW & VIC have in common.

But Australia does have the 4th lowest petrol prices in a developed country, so we shouldn’t complaint.
