CAI MK 3

Post by dstocks »

OK, Finished the CAI. I now have a pipe from the front bar into the box I made here:

Here are some photos:

All piping made from PVC Storm water pipe. Using an old picnic table leg (the PVC ones that are tapered) to collect the air (cut in half and face bottom grill in bumper. This feeds under the chassis and into the Cold Air box. Did a test to the coast today 20 degrees outside at end of trip, 32 degrees inside the air box and 75 degrees in engine bay - yes a whopping 55 degrees differential.

when are you going to make me one?
Time is my problem. And probably my location too. Down to one other member in Canberra when Bucket disappears.

Oh, BTW, tip for doing this, dont put a screw into the wiring loom. It has a habit of blowing fuses......

      Materials

      Post by dstocks »

      Well,

I have some spare materials....... I think I have enough aluminium sheeting for another box, And your local Hardware store has plenty of PVC elbows and lengths. I can probably help someone......But will need plenty of warning. Am in the process of selling house and things are a little hectic atm. Doesnt cost much to do. Probably about $50 in materials.

Will put together a guide of some kind if I can soon too.

Oh and stage 4 will make it dual CAI. Im going to re-route the existing pipe as well so that it pulls from the upper grill.

That's awesome dude! As soon as that's in the DIY section, I'm definately doing that.

Is there much difference in sound?

A bit throatier I think, but could be imagining things.
