rust anyone???

Post by supraman »

hey guys n gals

im posting for my gf, we have a 96 gpx fto, silver in colour.
we have quite a large problem.

on the roof we have quite a few rust bubbles coming up.
they are only about the size of a 5 cent peice, that the biggest one, but
they seem to be coming up i the same spots.
it looks like they are popping up along the rails that are under the roof.
towards the front and at the back. and its happening on both side of the car. all the rust marks seem parallel and in line.

just wondering if anyone else has had this problem???

smash repairer told me that early lancers had the same thing. and it
could be bogged up but would come back worse.

do i have to try and find a wrecked fto and chop the roof or is there any easier fix???

thanks

Dstocks has just gone through the same thing and you can look up information about it on his Complete FTO website.

The link is in his signature, or you could find his post on the forums about it in the Help section.

Yep, ive lived the adventure:

The rust is caused by glue used in the 94/95 models. It can be repaired without replacing roof. Follow this guide and if you have any questions, send me a PM
