Hi
Has anybody moved the battery to the boot?
I need the xtra space in the front engine bay for an air-intake so just thinking of doing this. Just need a bit of advice on the best way to go about it. I've read from the webs that need to buy some pretty thick battery cables to handle the voltage & etc.
any ideas is appreciated.

If you have bought the CAI kit from UAS there isnt any need to put the battery in the boot, if your battery is thinner that the actual battery tray that the battery sits in, just shorten the bracket that sits on top of the battery ( just cut it and reweld it) which holds it in and slide the battery over away from the throttle body, then drill a hole into the battery tray for the bracket pole to sit into.

Alternative to moving your battery: get a smaller one. You can buy compact batteries (eg Optima YellowTop D51), or even a motorcycle battery. My Skyline came standard with a motorcycle battery (weight saving I guess).
If you decide to move the battery to the boot, it MUST be a sealed type (eg gel cell like that Optima) for safety reasons. Needs to be engineered too. 2ga cable should be sufficient for that. Fused cable too.
