petrol is about 8 - 10km per litre...
servicing... every 500km ull need to fork out atleast $35 for engine oil (i use castrol magnatec) and another $40 to the mechanic if u dont know how to change your engine oil, at 100,000kms ull need to do a major service which could range from 1500 - 2000$

tyres and brake pads are about every 1 and a half years (also depends on your driving style) tyres range from 4x$130ea(falken 326) to more expensive stuff 4x$200 like kumho ecsta.

tip boxes wont break if u drive responsibly... dont shift from [N] to [D] will your reving it in neutral... and try not to accidently push it up to [N] from [D] while driving and you should be sweet.

my fto is for sale atm if u live in sydney u can come give it a geeze

I think this should be 5000km. And the 100000km service cost will vary depending on where you are and who you go to. Mine cost $800 - $900. I guess I got lucky.

Good luck with the purchase. And when you get one, we want to see the pictures......

Don't buy a tiptronic if you plan to drive hard often, they hate heat.

Or you could buy mine??

    ditto :D

Also pays to use a good quality transmission fluid - if you plan to drive it hard. I use the redline atf and havent had any problems

Tip - all the convenience of an auto if you're in heavy traffic (which I am Mon-Fri) and still allows you to have the fun when you take it for a spirited weekend spin :P

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.

I get more than 10km per litre consistently (except after the last cruise  ) and I wouldnt say I drive conservatively... So over 600km from a tank is not unusual.

I get around 400kms if lucky, normally around 360 in the city.
Having really hard time to understand how come you guys getting 600 and over?
The tank is only 60lts, before red line 55lts, and cant even fill the tank right up to top, so lets say 53lts.
getting 600+ out of 53lts is less then 9lt per 100kms.

Even 1.6lt fuel saver brand new cars are unable to match this most of the times.

I just cant figure out how 10yrs old V6 2lt with Mivec, high rpm FTO engine can do 600 kms?

What is it? O2 sensor or something else that I have to recheck?

anyone that can do 600+ must be really babying their FTO.
My car was in really good nick as well. If your not gonna drive the FTO properly then u mite as well not drive it at all

Apart from driving pattern, it really depends on the model, GS (yes there are some do have this lancer in FTO shell) GR or GPX. And what sort of modifications as well.

I won't able to get more then 450km because i do micro trip every day. But if i'm Hwy, then i get around 500-550.

    1/8 of 60lt tank is 7.5 lt
So you are doing 600+ kms with 50lts of petrol,
that’s 8.3lt per 100kms inc mivec every night, sounds like most of this is in city as well

Don’t get me wrong but, I am really having trouble to understand this.

That’s probably because I am jealous, cause my car has serviced every 2500-3000kms.

Back when I drove mine regularly I could easily milk 500+ km's out of my tank.

I drive about 250 - 300 km a week, and generally fill the tank once a week (before the weekly price hike) and am surprised if I get worse than 10km / litre. I dont baby the car, but I'm no hoon either. Regularly use MIVEC off the lights (cos I can) and cruise in 5th when I get to the speed limit. I have a 95 GPX manual, running on 95 RON (out of necessity) The clock has 80000k on it.

With that in mind, on the last cruise I got about 9.5km / litre, and I was driving fairly hard through hills etc. SA members can vouch...

dunno how can ppl get 600kms!!!!

but now that my cars sold, i think its safe for me to say that i use to thrash the car heaps lol  but i regret getting a tiptronic, i shoulda got a manual instead
