I reckon a nice gold/bronze set would look good on a silver FTO.

yeah, i have decided that the scorpions i was lookin at are a bit over the top as well.

I dunno about gold though as i am eventually gonna get a respray from silver to probably a green or yellow with black tribal vinyls up the sides. I'm seriously thinking of these ones:

they r cheaper than the crazy ones ($999 as opposed to $1500) and i reckon they look relatively flash for a simple 5 spoke. Is the size (17"x7") a problem??

Those HP design ones are perfect man, stylish but not urine worthy.

Shadow chrome looks a treat on the silver FTO's (as I've got it on mine) and 17x7's will fit with no hassles whatsoever.

dont get something with to big of a dish because it looks funny on a front wheel drive car, and looks abit funny having deep dished chrome wheels ex (dished wheels suit tough cars (gold or silver rims), (flat wheels , little dish or none suit sporty, cute cars). jai
boost me, and then just clutch me, until i get my, loss of traction

They are too common, you see them everywhere.

Not common in the ville. Then again theres about 5 fto's up here.

Saying that though, i am still finding the crazy scorpions appealing.

Plenty of bling - it depends on where i want my paintjob to go. If i were to get flame vinyls all up the hood and sides i would jump on the scorpions like michael jackson on a schoolboy. But i find Tribal vinyls more attractive and im not sure how well those rims will go with them.

My concern with verde ones is similar to khunjeng's. do you think they will be a little "busy" on an fto? I love the look of bling but i dont want them to be so bling that they will look tacky.
I'm in the same boat Gus! I have a silver FTO and I'm finding it really hard to find rims that will firstly suit the car, and secondly, the colour.

On my gunmetal Lancer I got shadow chrome 17"s and they look great together - the colours match well without looking tacky or standing out too much. Matching a colour to a medium silver is hard- I think a chrome would look good, but I've never been a fan of the cheap chrome look.

I reckon the pic of this silver FTO with large chromes looks good - not too "VIP boys", but still sporty. (got this pic from the "pictures of different FTOs" - interesting stuff there!)

Anyone out there have any pics of nice rims on a light coloured FTO?

Sorry I can stand white cars or white rims. 8) :D

I always didn't like white cars, but I'm increasingly coming around - if they are clean, with a few choice vinyls or some some nice mods I reckon they can look pretty sporty. White rims only suit white cars though - they look a bit trashy on anything else.

haha we all love the same car.... but gee we all have very different tastes on how the FTO should look :)
white is by far my favourite colour on the FTO (not so much on other cars), but agree it must be clean - same with any colour really....

rims - prefer a hyper silver or even shadow chrome... sometimes black rims can look quite cool too. not a big fan of white rims or super chromed.

My Rims

Post by dstocks »

I guess this is subjective, but the rims I have on my blue FTO looked really good on my previous FTO (Silver one). They are silver, but have a black tint (called Hyper Black). It really looked good on the silver.

Will you be eating those words now, or would you rather save them for dinner? :P

Love my whitey FTO, 'tis hawt.

Also, this doubles as a picture of those HP style rims on an FTO. I reckon then look pretty good, but they are quite a common set of rims on lesser cars (read: holdens, fords, etc.)

Same. i have a white FTO with white rims. Love it. Mate has a S15, red with White wheels and body kit, and it looks absolutely insane. the white wheels are what set it off!

Hehe no I wont be eating my words. What I stated is I am yet to see a car that looks best with a white paint job. What this means is yes your white FTO looks really nice but it's not the best colour for the FTO (IMHO). I think your car would would look better in a different colour. Black and Silver are my personal favourites for the FTO.

But the same goes for any other car I have ever seen in my entire life. I have never ever seen a white car and thought "wow that is the very best colour for that car." Every white car I see I think gee that would look so much nicer in red, green, pink, purple, black, blue etc.

I actually saw a really really nice white WRX down in Chapel St (VIC) last Friday night and it had white rims as well. I was suprised that I found it really nice to look at. But still in the back of my head I'm thinking man it would look so much better in a handful of other colours than it does in white.

Not the best, but the only ones I have handy at the moment. They are pretty much the same as the ones Bennoz recently bought.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.
