Tarkus "dogs balls"

Post by tarkus »

I have finally replaced the "dogs balls" indicators the VIC roads told me to fit.

I am OK with how they look.

I thought about that, then I was told by a friend who got pulled for his "blow off valve". He got it fixed so it was acceptable - got the paper work sorted - then changed it back. he was pulled again and they checked and they threw the book at him. did him for everything they could because they knew he had changed it back.

I am happy with how they look, makes mine a bit different. so I will live with it!

yeah, i dont see why vic roads would ask you to do that unless your existing indicators were faulty in some way....

The scary thing is it was because of an ADR (Australian Design Rule) therefore ANY state can decide to do this....

Yr mate got pulled over for an illegal modification. The chances of u getting pulled over is small becos yr car is stock. And, if u do get pulled over there is nothing to tell the police that u have to have those dog balls fitted when they do a check up on u.

the australian car design rule for indicators is that indicators on both Left + Right sides of the car are visible at the same from an angle thats like 45 degrees from the front of the car... if i got that right..

so if ya wanting to cross the road and a fto is comming from the right you can tell if its turning right at an intersection before it gets to you or if its really just slowing down so you can get a better look.. before it runs you over and you get an extreme close-up :) but what vic roads dont know is thats cool with most ppl either way so we dont need em 8)

If the cops pull you over, they can access the VicRoads data on your car and if they do, they'll see a record of this and look for the indicators.
