wheel spin problem when redline
hi there
do you guys get a lot of wheelspin when changing from 1st to second when you are redlining the 1st gear?
apparantly everytime i did that the car would wheelspn badly and it seems to bounce and jumps and makes loud noise like the cars gound to fall apart
my tires are potenza 3 on 16" rims and still lots of treads
how do i fix this problem?
thanks

the cars got heavy duty clutch
and i havent had much experience with manual car,
i have never actually red line 2nd gear so i would know if that would happen going to third.....
soo how do you drive fast??
do you just wait till the revs drop to 5000rpm then let go of the clutch???
thanks for your input guys

What exactly is 'dropping the clutch'??
I think it's when you just let go of the clutch from the floor and let it bounce back up?
As for my 1st - 2nd gear change at redline, by the time I've put the clutch in, moved the shifter down and then re-engaged the clutch my RPM has dropped down to about 5k. Keeping it in MIVEC while doing this change is always a bit tricky.

Dropping the clutch is revving its tits off then just completely releasing the clutch in a hurry - ie dont even let you foot come up with the pedal, just take your foot off altogether very quickly. Usually results in a whole bunch of wheel spin.
To avoid the spin just release your foot off the pedal a little slower - feel the clutch plate engage to its friction point. I too have a heavy clutch (750kg pressure plate & sintered clutch disc) & I have no issue with wheelspin..... If I dont want it that is. Redlining second & smashing it into third will also see a slight wheelspin if you've got the power, but again it can be avoided by correct clutch technique. If you are a boy racer taking on kids with shopping lists on their doors, you WILL be quicker without the wheelspin. It just wastes time & tyre tread - also less than freindly for your gearbox cogs & mainshaft. Also that shudder you speak of - sounds to me like your shocks are shot. Get them replaced it will smoke up without the cavatation.

i think at the drags RWD cars put the rear suspension on as stiff as possible and the front on as soft as possible so the rear doesnt squat down on acceleration and there is give in the front to lift up a bit and grip but not lose grip due to lifting up too much (higher than the rear of the car).. or is that FWD...

thats fwd drag cars, rwd cards get more grip if they are beeing pushed down on the rear tyres.
with regards to the original post, learn to drive, fwd + power takes a little bit of getting used to. if you are controlling the clutch properly, and wheel spinning starts at redline, does it really matter, you need to change gears anyway
