How big is your hole in the grill going to be and what size tubing going to the pod ??shue wrote:yep the "bell" is the metal hole in the grill. im thinking of removing the original one and leading the piping from the bell st8 to the pod.should be more efficient than making a hole in the original one i picked up the bell and piping off ebay for about 20$ i think .

Yeah looks good, but i was thinking if you took away the original piping and just had that 3" hole in the grill with piping going to the pod wouldnt you get less air going into the pod ??
With the other method you have the original setup plus the custom setup feeding more air in ....

I have got the UAS kit. Comes with some 3" flex pipe where you can easily run from the bottom lip of the front bar up to the pod. Easy to do and essentailly gives you 2 inputs into my boxed CAI area..stock plus this flex pipe. Took me all of 10min to fit. FTO388 has done this also...I have fixxed a grill to my flexpipe...easy another 5min...painted it black to match and off I got with a nice sound

I got a Veilside body kit and am considering running piping from the 2nd hole (see pics above) to the passenger side open underside section of the Veilside kit which will ultimately keep the pipe short and a hell of a lot straighter.
Question: What are the dangers of taking in water when the pipe is directly facing the airstream?

Here you go joel...this is my setup... you will see why I need my front bar spreyed...looks sh*t upclose...the wire shown is usally hidden...
Effectively my new pipe runs fron the front to the boxed area and took 10min to fit...with a bit of wire etc...as u can tell from the pick the filter is dirty right where the pipe is...so I made it sit a bit lower so as to allow the air to circulate a bit more...

Nice setup dude! I'm taking off my Front bar probably fri and sat this week coz I gotta clean and paint the guards and things like that ready for our Autosalon venture. Might as well see what I can do about the intake pipe.
My main concern is if you were say travelling at 100km/h or more in your case......hehehe........would you draw water through that pipe? Coz we can all say bye bye to our engines as soon as even a drop of water gets in there......

If anyone was planning on getting one, might have to wait a while.

The origional pipes are still there...like Kev we simply added the extra pipe from the front bar with some 3" flex pipe as shown...I was taking mine apart when i took that pic ready for my new front bar...
Essentially its so easy to do what I have done...and must work well...direct flow into my boxed area.

lol even with that wire hanging down??EURO wrote:looks good chris... whats that? u want to put an intake pipe from my front bumper to the pod? wow that would be great ..
looks like a good fit and tidily done.

I will be re-doing this with my new front bar. My plan is to make a "funnel" out of some plastic to match the intake diameter to the hole of the new bumper...put some mesh over it to match the front mesh and off we go...

if you dont seal up the pod, almost all cold air piping will be pointless period.
Air doesnt magically enter the CAI and flow a cool steam of cold air onto the pod. With the flex in the pipe your losing the efficientcy of the pipe and bascially gaining nothing, and more losing power with the POD/Unsealed pod arrangement.
Seal it or lose it, unless your doing it for the noise.

Mines a tip, 7kwatw gain on the dyno..so if you reckon I'm gonna get a bigger gain by fixing the sides (cos thats all thats "not sealed")...maybe I'II look into it at some stage. Kev and Shue have a decent box I think.
