If the car is unregistered its quite simple. Get the details of the vehicle, ie vin number, engine number, etc.... Ring the RTA and tell them you want an unregistered vehicle permit to transport the car into NSW. They dont cost that much and you can specify how long you want the permit for, ie 2 days, a week etc. You must display that permit in the windscreen of the car when you drive it up. Then its just a matter of getting it pink sliped and registered in NSW. Did just this recently with a bus.... no problems encountered!

Good Luck

Hand in the plates in Vic and deregister it. Oh and btw make sure you get a receipt from the original owner giving all of his details, your details as the buyer and the vehicle details...

NRMA = RACV, but they just crap IMO. I had a car inspected by them, 2 wks later it broke down, & its the engine. The mechanic who did the engine change over said RACV should of picked it up during inspection.

You should have claimed from their 30 days guarantee and they will pay for the repair up to a certain amount if found broken but was tick as ok before.
