For normal driving without accelerating from 0-60 in 5 secs every time your at the lights I find in my 96' FTO and my 95' Fairmont Ghia that I get loads more km's out of the tank using Optimax or Synergy as opposed to the lower octane fuels.
The FTO gives me over 530km's on a full tank and the Fairmont Ghia 430.
With standard petrol I lose 50km in the Ford and around 100km in the FTO. So for most of the time it actually works out cheaper for me to use the 98 octane fuels.

The availability of some fuels is what determines what I use.
All servo's in my area have Premium, but only a few have better, and they tend to be out of the way for my usual driving. As such, I tend to use 95RON all the time.
You understand, its a necessity thing...
but there's NO WAY I'd stoop to 91RON !!!

yeah, i understand in some areas in harder to get 98RON fuel, but recently a lot of petrol stations have made the additional upgrade.
