Just a reminder on how much fto's kick ass.

Post by Star_Lancer »

I've noticed a lot lately quite a few negative comments about FTO's on here...I have had my FTO for a few months now...and all I have to say is...

You either love them, or you hate them! There's no inbetween with these cars I have decided!

In my opinion, these cars are damn sexy - even STOCK! They stick out like a sore thumb in traffic, how many do you see per day here in Aust. compared to other imports like Skyline, WRX etc? I have a black FTO and nothing looks hotter than when u got it nice and polished - and with other colours too (sorry, burgundy doesn't do it for me though). They really are quite a unique car and have a sleek/aggressive shape to them!

The power is also good for them too - 147kw at approx. 200nm torque stock isn't anything to be scoffed at for the price of these cars. They are also a lot of fun to drive revving out to 8,000rpm! Don't worry about them not being the fastest to take off lights either - they are made for cornering!

Although there's not many mods and can be pricey, there's not much needed to be done to these cars.

As for problems with these cars, it's like anything really - take care of it and it's no problem. Only two main probs with them are the stock central locking getting sticky and the idling - which can be easily fixed!

So to all those putting negative comments about these cars:

Love it, or leave it. ;)

Here here.

Coming up to a year I've had my baby, and I fall in love again every time I give her a good buffing. Now, if only black wasn't such a pig to keep clean... :)

I bought mine less than a month ago but I've dreamed of having one for over 8 years now. I still love it now just as much as I did when I first saw one.

AND since buying the car most ppl that ask me about it ask what year it is. When I tell them 96' they look at me in shock. They all say the same thing... 'I thought it was like a 2004 model or something!'

The FTO holds it shape like no other. Long live FTO. 8)

    It is a great car.
I don't own one, but the only disappointment I see in them is the engine. Great engine I mean, but doesn't feel like 150kw.

Otherwise, what would be great is evo 9 engine + running gear, nice kit/paint, wheels, suspension, recaro's, and the interior layout is already beautiful

With some cash, it can be turned into an amazing looking car, and a weapon on the streets

the fto has top notch everything i reckon apart from the engine, though it was 94,95 when the car was conceived and i think they might have done the best they could... (and still n/a) 125hp at the wheels and 6/7secs to 100kph is a car thats not dedicated to speed imo. not that it needs 2 be 8)
