yeh i put them on i followed the instructons but yeh i think i messed it up..
i have only done the passenger side front seat for now.. im doing the drivers side tomorrow.. The seat has wrinkles in it.. and isnt as tight as i thought it would be.. can anyone help me? i mean is there some sort of treatment that will tighten it up? some how? i really dont know..
The bottom half is tight.
The top and back are tight.. its just around the front where its kind of loose.
yeah mine looked like that at first.... all i can say is
1) pull really tight,
2) use a hair dryer to make the leatherette more flexible and
3) let a hot day with the sun beating down while u drive do the rest of the work.
You need to pull really tight. This is no joke. Pull hard until all but the fold marks disappear. They will settle down after some weight/sun's been on them.
I never needed a hairdryer - although it might help you. The key to getting that front part of the upright tight, is ensuring the holes you cut that tie to the embedded metal bars are in the right spot and are equally distanced on both sides. Then you really need to get in there when pulling the cable ties tight & pull them right up into the embedded bar with a needle nose set of pliers......
The bottom will comes tight with some maniplutation of the wire you use. Creative cable tying also helps anchoring it.
ive started on my driver side seat - its turning out better than the previous seat - i think what is wrong with the previous seat was that the foam on it was really umm pooey, lol i mean it was cracking all over the shop and it probly didnt hold the imbedded frame as well.. i found the driver seat is much tougher to do.. so i guess my passenger side is stuffed.. but yeh eventually if it doesnt fix itself ill take it to a proffesional to try and repair does anyone know of a place in nsw western sydney area that does some neat car upholstry? i mean i can look for myself but if someone else knows a good place id rather go there instead of some dodgy establishment.
