Are all FTOs boring?

Post by mike1980 »

Hi, I found this site from the search engines so I thought I'd come and have a look.

I'm looking to buy a FTO but have been disapointed but what I've seen. Most seem fairly plain and boring I'm looking for something a bit more wild.

What are some of the wildest FTOs and do these things come up for sale often? What are some of the wildest accessories you can get?

If it's wild you want, then best way would probably be to buy a standard, and add to it, rather than buying one already modded. More fun, and you can get her exactly how u want her.

It dosn't take too much to get the interior sweet - new steering wheel, new dials and maybe some paint if you're into it.

The outside can be as unique as you. Lot of different styles, which u can mix or match, or hell - you can probably even design your own.

Or are you thinking more hardware? Turbo/NOS etc? Plenty of that available too if you've got the $

Somehow I got the impression that this will be your first car.
I also have the impression that if you call our precious interest boring, you won’t get too much reply

Nah, you're getting the wrong idea. I love the FTO, I'm just not much of a fan of the standard bodykit, to me it looks a bit boring. I've seen some pictures of some with different bumpers and spoilers and great music systems but most of the ones I've seen for sale are fairly plain.

If I have to, I'll buy a plain one and do it up, but I was hoping to find one that looked a bit more wild and maybe with some engine mods to match.

Well that depends on personal taste doesn't it? Some people like to keep it the "stock" look, while others like to have "fully sick" bodykit.

e.g lots of members find Veilside boring, but there are also lots of members find Veilside is the best thing ever happen to a FTO. Each to their own.

I personally like the "sleeper" type.

Which one is the veilside, got any pics? I don't want anything too crazy, just something a bit more spicy than the stock car. Something that is a bit more of a head turner and some nice ICE to match.

Thanks Bennoz, I love that D'Cautro bumper but I wish the hole was a bit bigger like some of the other ones. I think I like the spoiler on the yellow one but it's a bit hard to see from the pic.

Hey, my name's Mike too! That's too funny. I'd hadn't got that far through the forum yet, I'll go take a look, but in case I can't work it out, which one is his?

hey guys, you've been great, thanks for all the info.

dstocks that's an awesome website, I didn't know there was so many different body kits for the FTO.

I found mikeys car in the for sale section, it looks great but I'm going to give it a miss as I don't want a turbo, one of the things I like about the FTO is that it is a NA engine and that it goes so well. I'd be looking for other things like headers, filters, chips, exhaust etc. to increase the power but still keep it NA.

Now that I have a better idea of all the options, I'm going to spend a bit of time working out exactly what I want and where I can get it all from.

Thanks again for all the info, this site and the one dstocks listed are fantastic resources for info.
