And Spetz where you located? I wouldn't mind talking to this workshop if they can source and engineer the drivetrain. The brakes I won't need just yet.

And yes I will be upgrading the brakes before the car is on the road.

Cool I will give them a call on Monday. Do they import half cuts? Or do they just have the 6A13TT?

If they can do a better price that $1600 in including the freight then its sold!

How did you crack the crankshaft by the way?

if it is only the engine it is still a good price but you will still need all the other bits that would come with the half cut. I don't think you will find it easy yo get those bits.

Nacho I think it would be a good idea for you to take some time and read the conversion posts on the forums. Also the library can be a good place to find out some information.

It sounds like your not sure what you need to complete this project. get a heap of zoom or fast four, speed magazines and read through and get the workshop numbers from the articles and go speak to them.

in all seriousness, magazines will only give you a good starting point...

you're better off going straight to professional racing outfits like rally teams etc for advice...

if you have come across numerous workshops who are unwilling to take on the project, there's usually a good reason for it...

I have probably read about 3 automotive engineering books and still got a few to read. Shouldn't be reading at work really......

I've already found the workshops I will most likely go to as well. The main workshop I'm looking at is Hypertech simply coz the guy who works there (Arnold) use to own an FTO and has done project cars before. Everytime something goes wrong with my FTO I give him a call and he points me in the right direction every time. The guys who are doing the chassis work are in my local area and he's quoted me quite good prices because he's Portugese and I gotta spanish surname........

Because I'm only looking at the chassis at the moment and nothing else, I'm just trying to find an automotive engineer to consult with. Anyone know one in Melbourne? The workshop has given me a guy to call but he's out in Ballarat!

Hey guys,

Managed to source out a 6A13TT half-cut from a legnum, including delivery for about 3200. That sound about right? Obviously there's variables like KM's and all that jazz, but once that is done I've just gotta line up a workshop to do the job.

And anyone know a decent aftermarket ecu that can handle tip?

geoff had problem with microtech and did a manual conversion, I want more boost and the wolf i am using only goes to 22lb so i am considering going with motec.

Leave you computer till last and then pick the best on you budget, you might get lucky and find one at a good price. I will be selling a wolf soon with maps and harness for a 6A13 single turbo

Hey guys. I've been talking around and i think i might go with the 4g63 engine. prob out of an EVO6. Also use the evo gearbox. i was told the fto box may have a few issues with torque. it may be a little more for the engine but it has far more aftermarket parts and is a proven engine. Will also be far easier to get work done to it later on. so far i got this for cost:
$6000 for Evo6 half cut. ( trying to find cheaper yet.)
$1500 for drop in
$1600 for custom intercooler and piping etc.
$???? for things that pop up

What i'd like to know is does anyone know what could be likely to pop up? any help would be great.

Are you using all the parts from the EVO VI? ie. Fuse box, fuel pump etc.?

You will probably need to upgrade the stock fuel pump and get a better fuel pressure regulator as well as some custom mounts.

Is the EVO VI engine mounted on the driver side or passenger side? Can't seem to recall where its mounted.

Hope your project goes well by the way!

And Danny is your engine still running using stock internals? 22lb is pretty amazing if it is!

it has been done - but car was built in japan...

the poms have done a few i think or maybe they were like that from japan dunno

there used to be one in australia... but it dropped off the planet a few years ago... maybe got wrecked dunno...

Where did you buy them from actually? They might be able to do a better price than RPW.
