Driving lights...How do i know if they are on

Post by Lenny »

Howdy folks,

Just wondering if there is there meant to be a indicator type light on the instrument cluster to let you know you have your driving lights on??

ie in the day time the only way to tell is via reflections on other cars or when i get out and notice them still on.

Thanks

No light as such, but there should be a very annoying beep....

If there is no beep, then the diode in the cicuit under the steering column has been cut. It can be repaired reasonably easily. Its on the same cicuit that creates the beep when you leave the keys in the car with the door open & the reverse beep on tips. Some people accidentally cut the wrong one when wanting to disable one of the other beeps...

Even better - the DIY guide. (it is for stopping the tip reverse beep, but its the same board & all the beeping diodes are next to each other)

See in the pic the three diodes - have a look at them in your car & see if one has been snipped.
