is there a reason for the smal 2L with big V6 ???
i saw on a show that they said rally cars can not be over the 2L mark....
did the FTO designer want it to be in Rally race car ??

I think it's just to do with the fact they wanted a certain size car and to fit in their range and 2L was as big as they could reasonably get in there.

I believe mitsubishi went for the small V6 instead of a larger capicity 4 or even just 2.0L is to overcome the lack of torque you get in lots of 4 bangers in the early 90's.
Most N/A 4 bangers back then produce around 150-180Nm, while FTO is 200Nm, plus its good for the marketing ppl as they can brag about "its a V6 & its MIVEC"

Yeah! When I told a commonwhore enthusiast that the FTO was a 6, that shut him up pretty quickly when he was bagging the 4 bangers.
