Think its time maybe to move on???
Hey all,
Ive had my FTO for around 4-5 years, never through about getting a new car till now.
I got a friend who can get cheap cars and insurance, as he works for a leasing company!
Get this, WRX around 2003, for low 20's! Also inhouse insurance for $500.00!!!!!!
Thats bloody awsome in my opinion!!!
I'll see how it goes!

Yes i'm sure, because one of the old member had brought a brand new MY05 WRX last yr, & it cost him less to insure it then the FTO.SchumieFan wrote:U sure kev??? here the rex would cost more cause its turbo. ie, my car costs $2100 a year to fully insure, a WRX would be around the $2600 markFTO338 wrote:WRX are always cheaper to insure then a FTO, but thats a good deal you got there.
BTW your example are base on NZ, not OZ. I believe every country have different insurance policy, let alone companys.

persoanlly...I can insure a WRX cheaper than an FTO..I know cos I have checked...$500 is cheap but have seen it around that price though leasing companies..I have mates too! However I didn't like thier policy and went with my own place...
A rex should be cheeper for us "mature drivers" since they are more common for parts etc...then again your age is a big factor.

Is an Import, so all insurance company in Australia will see $$$$$ & use the excuse of "parts are hard to get"SchumieFan wrote:ok, so whats there reason for the fto costing more to insure????
sorry, off topic
While NZ have loads of imports & at much cheaper price, & also parts are more widely available then Oz.

ya what Kev said...basically its a simple calculation regarding cost of parts...import = expensive premiums regardless of age...I'm mean 1k min for a 10 yo car is rather steep in my mind...while a new WRX was gonna cost me about 650...I mean my mates SAAB is costing him liek 2k?? and the car is only worth like 15...same deal.
