Ok so I've decided I'm going to get slotted discs, well actually I need them rather soon as my current front discs are being *~delightful!~*.

Slotted: 425s, 547s (for track use)

I understand those are the part numbers for the discs (front & rear) but can anyone point me in the direction of part numbers for some decent pads?

IE: EBC Greens or Reds?

Cheers! :)

I use Racebrakes, RB74's bit squaky but very nice pads.
Call Racebrakes they know the part numbers.

Also Racebrakes do pretty cheap DBA slotted rotors... that's where i got mine.

If you go greens: DP2954

Apart from a bit of excess dust, I cant fault em.

Mind you they made short work of my sh*t quality steel rotors...

New DBA ones arrive next week *rubs hands together* :D

Side note - if you go to less than 3 or 4 tracks days a year, I wouldn't bother with anything as hardcore as Reds... They take an eternity to heat up & grip during normal street driving.

Are either of you using braided lines?

Or would that be overkill?

Nah, but I did replace the stock rubber ones. They old ones tend to crack & loose their ability to keep max pressure. Gives you the whole "I keep pushing but nothings happening" feel to the pedal.

I am looking into getting DBA slotted with RB74s as well.
Where do I get braided lines from? cost and labour?

I've emailed Race Brakes and will post up the reply once I get it.

If the price of the hoses is too high I'll just get them from Perfect Run as they have them on there for about 270 + freight. Can't imagine it would be toooo much to fit them.

Just be careful with the Perfect run ones - check that they meet Aus ADR regulations. d_stroy_r got defected in WA (I know their cops are anal but still)

In order to get off any defect with braided lines you have to be able to pull out an Aus standards compliance certificate.

They aint hard to fit thou. Wheel off, caliper off, screw it in both ends, bleed the system, wheels back on & test.

Ye, they are illegal.

It took them 3 bloody years to spot it, but they have got nearly every mod on my car changed. BASTARDS!

Hey Guys,
I just replaced the brake pads on my GR and the Rotors are below minimum thickness.

Is it possible to use GPX rotors with GR calipers?
Reason I ask is I could take Timmy D's rotors off his hands and use them for now and possibly upgrade to gpx calipers in the future?

I have 15" alloys so they should fit behind them right?

Short answer is no Mike.

Also being a GR owner - I had to upgrade both calipers & discs. The GR discs are 25mm smaller than the GPX.

I whacked on a s/hand set of GPX calipers & a nice set of drilled rotors to do the job.

GPX calipers bolt straight on. No mods required (as long as you have you discs to suit as well)

I would be interested in the DBA 4000 series but I have evo III brakes. They are the same size as FTO ones but have 4 stud configuration not 5

Thats interesting Spetz, the pads I run (EBC greens - DP2954) are also suitable for the Mitsi Challenger (99-2000) FTO, Galant, Shogun, Shogun Sport, Sigma 8O and the EVO II & III!

So the same rotors must be available in 4 stud, to suit the same calipers.. good to know!

Ahh ok - well I will have to find a set of GR rotors then!

Unless someone has a set lying around that they want to offload?

IS RB74 the part number of the brake pads, and are they only available from racebrakes?

Oh, and is it the same part number for front and rear pads?

RB74 is the name of the material the pads are made of, and yes, they are made by Race Brakes, although you may be able to order the pads through a brake specialist. Race Brakes have their main workshp in Melbourne.

RB47 is NOT the part number, it is something like 1611 or 1911 or possibly something completely different

I bought pads for the front for about $160 last year... They stop good

Like most after market pads though, they are quite dusty
LED ALL the things.
