Doors Locking by Themselves?
Hey there, I've just put a new battery into my car, and now for some reson my doors are locking when the ignition is turned on, and unlocking when it's turned off!
I had my alarm installed a few months ago, and Anti-Hijacking was NOT included...
I did the folding-mirrors-when-u-lock-the-doors mod a while ago, but luckily put a switch on so i can turn them off when i'm driving. The only thing i can think off is a short with my wiring.
Any ideas guys? Not that i mind not having to pay for anti-hijack, but something like this changing suddenly always freaks me out!
Cheers

(Can't see any connection, but my stepper motor's started playing up at same time. Thought i'd mention it)

ya sounds wierd. To summarise you have modified the mirrors to close with the central locking and you have had a new alarm..common theme is the central locking...I'd be looking there. What exactly did you do for the folding mirror mod (or what DIY guide) might give us a clue. i.e wiring of the relays

I used the standard 2-relay mod that Supplanter listed above.
And yes, has only started doing this after i fitted the new battery couple of days ago - i've had the mirror-mod fitted and working perfectly for 6 months.
If i've got the time tomorrow, i might dis-connect the mirror-mod and see if she's still doing it.
WooooOOOOoooo!

based on what you have said the only compoent in the mix that may be effected by the battery discon is the alarm the ignition/mirrors and your mod don't care as these are only control signals (+12V it seems) so its not going to just start happening cos of a simple battery change. My guess is that you check out what your alarm is all about and what exactly they did (I don't know much about alarms but basic concept on isn't that hard) just my thoughts without knowing much.
