Yes Bluntman, it is with Famous Car Insurance. I have just been faxed my direct debit request form, so as soon as I fill that out and return it to famous car insurance I will be covered as the policy holder. Give them a try and let them know you are a member of FTO Australia and that is where you heard about them. I found these guys to be quite polite and fast in arranging cover, not to mention how cheap they are according to most of our ages (under 25).

bluntman, FAMOUS was the insurance comp that my friend went with... you have that number now.
also he said there was a good one called Import Finance/Insurance???
the number is 07 552 68866...
let us know the outcomes (prices) ok...

I'm still riding with only a cover insurance... I'm still shopping around for the best price.. so I'd be interested which is the cheapest you found..

funny thing... I called DAWES and they wuoldn't insure me.... not because of my age or NCB... but because of the postcode... our area is one of the places they don't insure 8O .... I LOVE THE WEST

Im finally getting insurance!! :D
Famous was the cheapest, and trust me i rang nearly every single insuance company in Oz, full comprhensive, with only me as the driver (21) with no NCB, worked out to be $2640, just have to finish filling out the forms and fax them off.
Out of every company ive rang Famous was also the most helpful
Thanks to everyone for their help!

Good work Bluntman, glad you found some insurance. I guess there is one good thing that can be said about getting older... insurance gets cheaper! (Assuming you don't have a prang or incur too many fines in the meantime, of course...)

hey guys...i'm new here..here cos my gf is considering an fto..
I know this topic is abt a month old..
jus thought i would let bluntman know that famous is pretty good..
My fren made a claim thru them and there was no problems..they pay very quicklu...like the cheque was sent out like 3 weeks after the claim was asssessed...

also..i think famous are jus the brokers..and the actual insurance company is somewhere far far away...i am guessing famous go and buy insurance from them as a group...!

newayz..jus thought to give u some peace of mind that famous are reliable...but apparently they had like 70 write offs last month so premiums have gone up..!!!
I wonder what the premium is for an fto now..if its still around 2k then its time to go shopping..otherwise its no fto for my gf..!!
