why don't you upgrade your brakes to the GPX ones? I've seen it done before and it will increase your stopping force.

Well I just ordered a set of these rotors. The DBA 4000 series (part number is 4425 to suit the FTO) and I got them at *ahem* trade price - $220 a rotor.

I have my doubts about getting them for $105... and if you can, buy them!
Me thinks that price is on the Gold series.

What pads are you going to be using on those discs?

Going front and back??

Damn, at $220 a corner that's close to $900 for discs alone. Chuck in pads at ($??) and hoses at $250ish and that's quite hefty for a decent brake upgrade.

Gonna stick with my EBC Greens. Not gonna worry about the back end (just yet anyway.) The rear discs are a bit cheaper at $180... but still....

Look hot too - ones on the far left.

its $105 per disc for part number 425.
Theres not many in stock at any 1 time so i can only get 4 disc's per month.

So i see it as 2 disc's each, thats 2 people per month for 5 months.
If it goes ahead you'll only pay as your turn for disc's comes up.

The other reason i can only get 4 per month is it'll look very strange if he orders 40 disc's at once, it'll look like his starting his own business.

Ahh yes.

I tell you, John @ UAS almost talked me into getting your big brake kit, but being GR means I gotta play with master cylinders... Just haven't got the kinda coin at this time of year...

Ahh gotcha - the 425 is the Gold series - still a damn good rotor, drilled & slotted as well :)

Know what you mean about quantities - it was the first thing I asked my mate.... "Reckon you could do me 10 sets?" Gives me a dodgy look, then a "What's in it for me?"

Gold series is the middle one folks

Sorry Pete, in that line up of rotors in my other post, they get MORE expensive to the right! And as someone mentioned before, they don't do a 5000 series for the FTO. I looked at that list & just before Mitsubishi (EVO's etc) there is Lotus and Lamborghini 8O

well when you do they're definately worth it... if i do the rears i'm going ot need to upgrade the master cylinder so i might have a spare floating around .... ;)

i've got to come on a cruise at some stage and i'll take you from 150k -> 0 balancing the brake lockup like you won't believe... the amount of control and feel the car has now through heavy braking is amazing! i love going fast now just to stop in a hurry ;)

I think my pads are gone, and will get my discs checked at same time - so could be very keen for some new rotors at that price - if available!

Ok, Iv'e got an update. But a bad one. Lets say for me, ive had a lesson learnt with part numbers.

My mate did as i asked an got me the price of part 425. Now a few weeks on he went and got me the rotors (425). Me as i am accepted them without checking them, luckily i didnt have to pay for them as of yet.

Once i get a proper look, it turns out... the part number 425 for the rotors are the STANDARD FTO ROTORS! :'( Not drilled / slotted anything. Just the stock standard rotors.

So, now iv'e got a pair of stock rotors here that are not doing much.

SO if anyone wants them i'll sell em for $180 for the 2 of them. Plus postage or pickup of course. And there DBA brakes of course.

Am looking into part 4425 now.

The part number for the DBA rotors are as follows for GPX only.

Gold series: 425x front (cross drilled and slotted) 547x rear. (for street use only as the cracks will develop when use for track)
Slotted: 425s, 547s (for track use)
    Standard: 425, 547
4000 series (front available only - need to order): 4425xs (cross drilled and slotted), 4425s (slotted)

If I recalled correctly, I got my DBA golds for $120 each from Huntsman Motorsport (speak to Terry Conroy 0423 734 532) but I bought some brake pads as well. Great service and he delivered the rotors and pads himself.

    Hope this helps.
