Oh, and interesting fact for anyone attempting this. the surround over the ciggie lighter is metal.

Be careful when sanding.

I wanted to use vinyl dye on the bastard, but now cause theres exposed metal i'm going to have to use normal spray paint

You do know that metal plate comes off dont you. Unscrew the nut (not really a nut, but its the closest thing I can think of) on the back of the cigarette lighter. It will then slide out (as will the metal plate). Good old plastic underneath.

I just broke my pristine stereo surround too

Mine is down the bottom edge though)

I applied some araldite to the back of it yesterday and am giving it a few days to dry before I test to see how strong it is.

Will take some pictures if successful!

Update - araldite was not successful - let it for 2 days to dry and when I tested for strength the araldite held it together but was still very flexible (probably not fully dry yet) I reinstalled it in the car in any case as the carck is not that noticeable.

Mines fucked, after weeks of periodically working on it I was happy with the results, chucked it in the car and it no longer fit by about 2 or 3 mm's, then the last of the upper clips snapped off, and the bottom becamse riddled with cracks.

I'm pissed.

Now I need a new one

i got mine from a smash repair place in dande.
(Which is where i get my spare parts for, for my fto.)
I paid $125 for the gear/stereo surround.

could you possibly make a mould of the stereo surround and do a small production run. I think that there might be a few people interested in getting one. I would take two so i could install after market stereo with out having to alter my original one.
