just like i everyone feel your pain.. lucky everyone's alright.
I had a smash a month ago 12 hours after i bought my beauty./ turned her into this Image
when i look at it im still 8O 8O :cry: :cry: the only feeling i could compare it to is when i was a kid and broke my arm & it was pointing the wrong direction..

cost me about 4200 for all parts, panels and respray, looks brand new now but payed out of my own pocket.
I highly recommend Just Jap Autos at kirrawee (syd), got 2 headlights $120 each, front bar $350, side panel $250, indicator for free

oh and to the bloke who was asking about the washer tank a few days back - there it is.

Guys,
I need some advice urgently.
I have talked with the smash repair guy, and here is what he asked me;

He has asked me to fill couple of paper,
These papers seems to belong to a lawyer.
Details to be filled are;
- My car details, and my details, my insurance company details (don't have any insurance)
- Other car details(the girl who hit me), her details, her insurance company details
- Description of accident, location time, date, and even there is a space to draw what happened
- Passenger details (I had a passenger)
- Witness details (no witness)
- Other Details of the accident; conversation between me, her and cops

Also, I have to sign these papers.
And there is a declaration at the end;

1) I authorise (Name and address of the lawyer's company) to act on my behalf in relation to my motor vehicle collision
2) I understand that (Name of the Lawyer's Company) may undertake recovery action, including the issuing of legal proceedings in relation to the damage (including any hire car claim if applicable) to my vehicle
3) I understand that there will be no cost to me unless Court proceedings are commenced and the Court does not totally accept my version of the collision. I understand that I will be advised of any cost that I may incur if legal proceedings are commenced.
4) I authorise payment direct to my repairer of monies recovered for the cost of repairs in relation to this claim.
5) I confirm that my repairer may instruct (Name of the Lawyer's Company) during negotiations with the other party/parties and/or their insurer.
6) I understand that (Name of the Lawyer's Company) are relying on the accuracy of this claim form and that I agree to provide such information and assistance as may be requested of me.

Now, I had a chat with the guy and asked why do I need this form.
He explained the situation as, he wants to use independent assessor (this assessor is actually the lawyer firm's assessor) to asses the damage, rather then using Alliance's (her insurance) assessor. He believes he can claim so much more this way.
This way he can claim more, therefore, I don't have to pay as much for the rest of the car to respray. Instead of paying $1500, might pay $1000 or even $750
Also he reckons, Alliance assessor may say that because I had scratches on the bonnet and side panel previously, they may reject to pay some of the cost of the paint

I have specifically explained to him that I don't want to do anything that might extend the time of the claim process, incur me more cost, or going to court.
He seems totally fine and confident that this is what they do all the time, and this action will not cause me any trouble.

What do you guys think? Have you had such an experience?

First part of the claim paperwork is standard, second part I've never seen before. I would be wary of having lawyers involved at this stage (although he is saying they aren't really involved) but you are signing your permission for them to step in if necessary, which could end up costing you big time.

Is there no-one you can ask to take a look?

Max the reason why you got the second form is because you don't have insurance. And therefore, he have to cover himself as well by using these "independent assessor/lawyer" just to make sure he get his money for his job, if the other party decided to reject the claim.

Make sure they didn't end up in court or you be up for a nasty suprise. But since you already got the other party admit at fault, it is good to have a statement for the actual driver. Like i said before it get tricky if the other party want to dig you.

oof... by the sounds of what FTO338 said, go ahead but better be careful about it. make sure the other party has admitted fault in the report.. or if she decides to speak against it... well.. the mafia have ways of keeping people quiet.. ahem.

if u sign that form. u will have to get tha panel beater to do your work.. its theyr way of sneaking around your back and tying you up. so they get the work.just tell them uwant a quote. and thats it if they dont give u one. leave go somewhere else.
if the insurance company say they will reduce the cost because of the scratches on your bonet and panel. tell them well the scratches arent getting fixed on the bonet becasue u are getting a carbon fibre bonet. and the scratches on your panel were from the accident. no matter what . it has to be fixed and rubbed down anyway to paint over it. so i dont think they should care about reducing the cost of the paint. paint is cheap anyway. 150$ a litre. ifthat .and u only will need something like 200mls to paint your damage from front end to the drivers side door where theywill do the blend i think. as for u paying any money. u shouldnt have to pay 1cent. accident wasnt your fault hers , she pays the access fee u pay nothing. just get her details get your car to be assessed get the cheque. and get it fixedand then get your bonet fixed aswell. make sureu tell your panel beater to give u a quote for the bonet fix included in the one u send to insurance, but tell them not to write it in . its dodgy but if u dont do it. your re spray wont match up that nice if u dont get bonet painted aswell.
u gota do what u gota do :wink:

Here is the first question;
If I get rid of the indicators would my car be defect?
As far as I know there are some production cars that don’t have side indicators, however, not sure.

Secondly, I am absolutely newbie when it comes to exhaust modifications.
However, getting the extractors and exhaust done is in my project plan later next year.

Furthermore, here is what I want to do visually.
I want to have 2-output setup from 1 muffler.

So, think about this
Image

Instead of those bloody big round outputs, nice looking doubles
Image

Is this possible? Do you think it will look good?

Image
I am assuming where the this side of the muffler has to be accommodate 2 more output pipes. Is this correct? And would this mod affect the performance in a negative way.
