ftoaustralia.com statistics
Hey all, just thought I'd share some of these figures with you - one of the privledges of being the boss, I get to see all these numbers....
Its been a big year for the site & a great year of regeneration for the club. Lots of new members, some new faces at the helm, talk of a number of shops around the country in the midst of getting compliance to bring more more FTOs in... and it shows. Here's the stats to date on the site:
The site averages about 6000 hits a day
Peak time is usually around lunch time 1:00pm or later in the evening at around 9pm
The quietest month this year was July with 94,814 hits
The busiest month this year was August with 210,042 hits
October was another bumper with 176,505 hits
We are only 7 days into November & it is already at 50,921 hits
As far as annual stats go, the site has only been up since late 2002. Here are the annual hits:
2002 - 57,721
2003 - 735,645
2004 - 1,482,309 (biggest year yet)
2005 - 1,375,318 (and we still have 2 months to go... looks good to beat '04!)
So congrats all!
Having only been part of the team for a few months, I've just started settling in with Kaz, Kev & the existing team. We have started on the formalities & lets just say we have some great stuff in the works for the coming months and years to come. You will see some changes coming soon!
Cheers,
Ben

"Hits" are not a good way to measure and compare as they are both unreliable and uninformative. The more important webstats are "page views", "visitors" and "unique visitors".
Even more important is to make sure the webstats program is accurate and is collecting valuable information as opposed to ego stroking information.

Does the stats program you're using know the difference between human visitors and robot (search engine) visitors?
If so, with 6,000 human page-views per day, the club should seriously look at getting some advertising revenue through the site. Get some sort of click-through advertising (e.g. Google Adsense) and then get every member to click on the advertising every time they log on.
