Car insurance paid monthly

Post by testlabmonkey »

Just letting you guys know about a new car insurance company that I just got a quote for. its a subsiduary of RAA insurance called H2P and they let you pay by the month.

As an example im a 28yo driver getting a 1995 FTO heavily modified and the quote was for $1170 which is pretty good from what i have gotten. plus being able to pay monthly made the decision for me as i just couldnt fork over the cash at this point. The excess is quite high at $1500 but hey thats jap imports for you and not much worse than Just Cars (which for me ranged from $1200 to $1400). If anyone else knows of insurance for imported modified cars that you can pay monthly please let me know. Also the driver rating goes on years experience not on proving that you have been insured on a car policy for x number of years.

Sorry I dont have a number for them I just rang RAA and got transferred and i cant find a web site for them.

Oh and also forgot that RAA is a South Australian equivelant to NRMA etc etc so I dont know about cars outside of SA but I'm sure they dont just insure SA cars.

Well I rang shannons and they wouldnt insure my car as they said that it had to many mods. Just cars would insure me but had to pay upfront.

Was going to ring Unique Cars but didnt get round to it. SchumieFan did you get your insurance from Shannons?

Surprised Shannons wouldn't insure you though. I am insured with them, and they are well priced and the excess is low. Pay by the month also.

Yeah i think it was more because i wasnt in a car club, hadn't done any defensive driving course etc etc... little difficult when I havent owned a car for 3 years. So according to them I wasn't a "car enthusiest".

I was 19 when I got the FTO, most places just said "no".

I'd only had my license for 9 months before I got it too.
I'm with Just Cars too.
