28 point safety check

Post by EURO »

Just had my suspension check done - after seeing Bennoz's new suspension set up.

Report says

Front sway bar bushes (fail) D's knocking and links knocking. any links $305, new D's $25 plus fittment

Rear sway bar bushes (fail) both links knocking $110.

Im assuming that means I need to change my drop links (or sway bar links) and bushes....

Thats exactly what was shot on mine - all droplinks & front & rear swaybar bushes were the worst of the lot. Camskill did have a full set of 4 droplinks on sale for $180 a while back, but dunno if its still going. Droplinks are easy to change (if the old ones arent to badly rusted) rear swaybar bushes are also easy, but the front ones, you really need minature hands to do them!

cool thanks bennoz.

do you know what D's are on the report? it has D's knocking $25 and then links $305 for the front.

So basically there is 2 drop links and 2 bushes at each end of the car? Meaning I need 4 bushes and 4 drop links?

He said he can get genuine bushes etc, and to be careful of the polyurethane as they dont have much give and cause wear on other areas of the suspension....

did u just get your bushes with your swaybar purchase?

I also had my suspension checked - at pedders (28 point) thingy

I got told everyone was coolz, except my drop links.

The guy said he can hear sounds when turning, but I cant - except my tool box thats installed i put in the boot.

As for changinig the drop links... I dunnoz, but i figured i beta get that fix before it compromises my safety

Yeah, there's 4 droplinks (1 at each wheel) and 4 sway bushes (2 front, 2 rear.)

Dunno what the D means thou :?

I did get sway bushes with the sway bars - but on their own $25 bucks is right.

I was a warned about the polys as well, but it became irrelevant because I put polys all through the car anyway

rnbboi - droplinks are not a hugely crucial part of the suspension, but it would be wise to change them. It'll certainly alleviate a lot of noises.
