FTO models

Post by setiuk »

Greetings one and all from rainy England. I have been searching about forever to try and establish exactly which model of FTO I have. Tried all the usual english sites and what Japanese I can make sense of but am getting nowhere. I have a list of FTO models by chassis model number:

important - the ? is variable (only the last 2 letters plus a number if appropriate dictate what your model is)

GPX`s - E-DE3A-H?GH
GP - E-DE3A-H?FH
GP ? - E-DE3A-H-FH2
Version R - E-DE3A-H?FH3
GX Sports package - E-DE3A-H?XM
GR`s - E-DE3A-H?HM
GR Sports package - E-DE3A-H?HM4
GS`s - E-DE3A-H?UE

The coding is simple - look at your chassic plate on your rear engine bay bulkhead and check the last 2 letters (and number if appropriate) and that will tell you exactly which model you have.

What I am trying to find out is what model GP exactly a FH2 is. There is some talk of it being a prefacelift Version R. I suspect it is a Sports Package.

I would appreciate any ideas or info anybody may have.

It is an Icelle Blue (yes really - the chassis colour code says so !!) `96 GP - mivec, front & rear struts, no central locking, no electric mirrors, no sound deadening and goes like hell:

It is not a GP Version R Aero that much I do know from the model number - but neither is it a basic GP.

Sounds to me more like a variation on the pre-facelift GP, except that I understood that only had a rear strut brace standard. But I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to add a front one.

But if you're saying that the serial number is different, well then it's a mystery...

`96 GP`s did not have central locking fitted that much I do know. One of the weight reductions along with no electric folding wing mirrors.

The model code for a `basic` GP is as above - E-DE3A-H?FH
For a Version R it is E-DE3A-H?FH3

My model number is E-DE3A-HNFH2

So, it is not a basic GP, but neither is it an Aero Version R.

So what is it?
