hey Bennoz: thats pretty much what im after. want itto look as stock as possible
i did my maths and its working out to be around the $1500 mark
engine----------> extractors-->cat converter-->resonator-->muffler
free with car + $550 + $250 + $200 +200
plus around 300-400 fitting/welding etc
a lot of the muflers ive seen are the straight thru design (north south), ive hardly seen any bendy ones, like the ones that sit east west like bennoz
im located in melbourne by the way
didnt wanna hijack the extractors thread

ok, you're almost right:
engine-->extractors-->cat converter-->resonator-->muffler
This bit you really need to do to get the most out of it:
cat converter-->resonator-->muffler
Much like yourself, I went for the 'sleeper' sound. A deep rumbly sound that is both non offensive and non illeaglly loud. Most exhaust shops have a range of components you can use to customise your sound. Just remember, you get what you pay for with mufflers & cat converters - go for high flow. Ensure the piping to the rear muffler is mandrel bent as well, not machine bent. I even went for the straight through stock disguised tip....
Maximised power without the bling
Yeah that muffler is a straight through one, single in, double out. What you want to avoid is the baffler type muffler. Mine cost a bit more than that thou... the tail section (cat, resonator & muffler) cost me $1300 alone (fitted mind you.) They were mega expensive cats & mufflers - its also Stainless steel as well. Keep that in mind when pricing & selecting bits - cause a lot of hi spec mufflers & cats are not available in mild steel these days
I have seen quotes on this site for around the $700 mark for tail section mind you - I paid a bit extra to get it done right & with 'the good gear'.
and hopefully perhaps weld a right angle tip on the end
is titanium really worth it apart from weight savings?
what is the size of the cat end of the extractors? is it 2.5"? if so, should i get everything 2.5" (ie cat, resonator, muffler)?
how would i tell what is a baffler type or not?
im not too sure where to get hi flow cats and resonators from. can anyone recommend a place, cos i want to get the parts and give it all to my mechanic. i dont quite like the idea of getting ripped by autobarn. the most important is power and quietness. if it happens to sound good, its a bonus
so...who has had their exhaust modified in melbourne and where did you go? If I do it I'II get some extractors - high flow cat etc but inline with Ben and Co I want a few things done properly...any recomendations?
i.e. what bits did you use and where did you go and $$$!!
I've only got the UAS CAI kit (new pipe etc). I really wanna know where ppl have gone in Vic to get their exhaust done properly cos thats the next thing I want to do (following the pannel work !)
I've got the el-cheapo exhaust system. I believe it's completely stock apart from a HKS super drag tip welded on (bought the car as such) and it's uber loud cause there's not one, but TWO holes in my muffler.
I just got a recommendation on a exhaust setup suited to my mods Ive got the vs rear bar so ive decided to go the twin exhaust with the Y.
So what im going to do is run 2.5 inch mandrel bent with a high flow cat and after the Y it will go down to 2 inch with 2, 2 inch mufflers... Havent decided on the tips as yet.

why is it going down to 2"?
why not the same diameter all along?
