cai- few questions

Post by shue »

k . i finally got around to it. went to an exaust shop whos gonna get me a 90 degree bend pipe and a 45 degree bend pipe which im gonna fit together and slam a filter at the end. went to top stage whos making me an air box. like a whole enclosed one made from cf. now what my question is. there was this big ass hole when we removed the original filter. freddy reakons thats the original cold air feed, dint remove the front bar to see where the fat piping led to. could i use that hole to feed cold air to my air box or would i need piping from the front bar coming into the air box. not to complicate things what im doing is gettin a pipe from the front bar to the air box and also using the big whole with the plastic pipe in it. any ideas?

just got it off an exaust shop in clayton dude. went to get them this morning , just got a 45 degree bend pipe coz theres hardly any space under the bonnet for another 90 degree pipe to sit there unless i get rid of my battery. im just gonnna get a silicon 90 degree bend and plug the filter. cost me 50 bucks. pretty cheap

another question , i showed my intake pipe to lee and he told me it would restrict air to the engine. its a 3 inch 45 degree bend pipe. according to him its better to get a 4.5 inch pipe. would a 3 inch pipe coz that much restriction or would be around the same as a 4.5 inch one? or is the safest bet be to go with the original stock intake and slam a pod at the end?

3" is what,76mm? The throttle body is 60mm so no,i can't see that restricting anything.
Have you checked out ebay for a '98 eclipse non-turbo intake pipe? That'll fit with a small amount of modding.

yep around 76 mm. as in restricting air flow coz the pipe would be 3 inches till the filter.lee told me to get a 4.5 inch narrow it down to 3 inches near the tb. is that true or it wont make a difference either way?
