GPX Intake Manifold work on a GR??

Post by RedlineGX »

Hi guys want to get my intake ported to match my 65mm T/B but I dont want the downtime...Porting place has a GPX manifold but will it fit back when they're finished? I know they look almost the same but I've read on the UK forum a while back that th car doesnt idle properly etc when they're swapped.

Anyone actually done this and got it to work?

I always thought they were identical but now that I think of it I think the non-MIVEC versions had air flow meters where as the MIVEC's had MAP sensors

As far as I can see from part numbers they are identical. From looking at them (both types) off the car they are identical as well.

Idle probs... may have been an issue with the re-assembling of it all. Theory is that it should all work the same.

MAP sensors live right at the end of the air intake just before the air filter on the GR. Shouldn't be an issue when playing with intake & TB.

They don't fit, there is an explanation on the UK FTOOC somewhere. The map sensor is one problem I believe.

The lower part of the intake manifold is different due to difference of cylinder heads.

So it would not line up properly and create turbulance, making it run like crap and lose power.
