do you have an immobiliser? If you don't then I was told my a locksmith that you can have a copy made with just the numbers on the key. So try to take out the other half of the key out of your boot lock and get the numbers off your key. Otherwise you might have to get all the locks changed on your car :(

no immobiliser, and my key isn't the original key so it doesn't have any numbers, but i'm thinking whether if i get that other piece out whether they can duplicate the key, u know like in the movies they make an imprint of the key on the soap, wonder whether that's real or it's just bull sh*t.

If i'm changing all the locks, how much am i looking at? that's the worst case scenario

It would all depend on where it's broken, if you can get the piece out and the functional part is still intact you should be able to get it cut.[/quote]

As long as the entire length of the teeth is intact you should be in luck.
