Exceptional Doctor required - Sydney

Post by ScottyTav »

Hi everyone. I have a important question for you all. My sister is very sick and has been that way on and off for two years. She suffers from severe migraines, vomiting, shakes, nausea and a long list of other things. This has been effecting her life in a major way and she has been to many doctors but they just don't have a clue what is wrong with her. She has spent a lot of money on medications and getting passed from GP to GP. I know she needs a specialist but you can't get to one unless you are referred to one by a GP. That is impossible to do if they don't know what is wrong in the first place. At the moment she is violently ill for the last 5 days with like mornig sickness and the shakes. The doctor thought she was pregnant but a blood test said she wasn't so they said it must just be a "virus" (GP talk for I don't know) but it isn't. She has been sick for too long. Doctors have also said they think she is suffering from depression and anxiety and just want to put her on anti depressants all the time. All these do is make her sick. She is really losing hope in finding a doctor to help as this is wrecking her life. She can't hold a job and her relationships are suffering and I am worried that if something like this goes untreated for long enough she may even die. Yes, that is how sick she gets. If anyone out there knows of a exceptional doctor that is genuinely interested in helping her and not get giving here anti depressants could you please respond here or email me at scott_tavener@yahoo.com.au. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your sister :(

Im not ure i can help with regards to a doctor, but have you perhaps considered trying alternative medicine like a herbalist or something? Sometimes western medicine doesnt diagnose the same way a herbalist (eg chinese medicine) would...

its just a thought cos i know from experience that sometimes you get so desperate for a solution that you are willing to try anything and you really dont have anything to lose...

cheers, good luck and let us know how you go

ScottyTav,
Unfortunately I don’t have any reference that I can recommend, however, here is what I know.
Stop mucking around with GP’s, they are there for to fix up basic health problems. You have to deal with hospitals. Go to a private hospital and get your sister checked out.

Remember, neither money nor time is more important then health.

I'd be thinking ME or something intercranial, a CAT scan is the minimum you should be looking for.
I too, am slightly Australian. <br>"You flamming galah!" <br>
Is it Necrophilia if she's still twitchin' ?

dude sounds a lot more serious than depression, think she needs to go to a hospital and get ct scans of her brain etc, my brother is a doc but hes based in the uk. could ask him what he thinks could be the issue next time i talk to him but from the sounds of things it aint anxiety or depression. i would recommend u to take her to a hosital and get extensive tests run on her before it does actually become life treatening. damn gps all they r good for is to write medical certs. i hope she gets better dude
