castor bushes and swaybars

Post by Chiangstar »

hey all

does anyone have a combination of polyurethane castor bushes (increased castor) and a heavy duty front swaybar?

ive had the combination for a while now and in the beginning i used to get this squeaking noise while on a sweeping left corner... for the life of me i could never work out what it was...

now i just get a metallic clunking noise and i know exactly what it is and has been all along...

because the castor bushes push your suspension geometry forward, my swaybar now hits a part of my chasis when i go over bumps... causing a metallic clunk....

so im thinking that the solution might just be to put some standard castor bushes on... but i really dont want to do that...

anyone got a clue on an alternative fix? :? cos i dont...

You could go for some pillow mounts...
Do the castor adjustment from up top rather than using offset bushes. I find the offset bushes are bit funny cause you really cant get precise alignment.... especially when they are worn.
