B.Kit installation and spray

Post by rnbboi »

I know that ders a damn good group buy for b.kits atm. Somewhat getting more and more interested as the day goes by.

Great price etc, but im assuming that I'll have to get someone to rip off my current kit and install the new one, then getting it sprayed.

Buying the kit from the group buy is fine, but what's holding me bak is the installation and spray.

Like... im wondering - "the installation and spray would cost more $$$ than the actual kit! "

*Also, I know from past exp they cant just spray the kit to match the car, cos it'll always be sumwhat diff, so like they have to spray the whole area 8O *

Does anyone know where in Melb that can do cheap (but good :) ) installation and spray for kits?

call lee up from sl. everyone recomends him and most of melb ftos go there. hes a nice bloke and will do a good job for u. im waitin for my kit as well but im gettin a full respray with my kit installation. i got quoted 900$ by a guy in sunshine and would not recommend him coz i think hes a w#$%er (pardon my french). u could get it resprayed for around 500$ and wouldnt need to spray parts of your car if the guy doing it knows what hes doin.

FFS.

Now i wish i found this forum way earliar.

A couple months bak, my old man took his 4x4 for a spray on the bonnet, pearl red, cos it was somewhat peeling, and the &*%*^ charged us $550 just for that.

That was my first experience with car sprays, didnt have a clue - so consequently we got jibbed .

If its $500 for the spray for all the parts/kit (thinking of skirts and front bar), I can live with that :D

$900 for full respray - to me thats rly cheap, been rding on some other forums etc, 2.5k for full repsray 8O ** what THE!?**

Shue, if u find someone that can do that, lemme know :)

Correction, Shue, do you read the Vic section??? Lee had sold his business, & now doing mobile mechanic, the panel beater guy will be going soon as well. So if you want any job done(mechanic or panel), just call Lee on his mobile direct (0421 787 090), & he will sort it out for you.

A proper professional respray can be anywhere in the vicinity of 4-5K
Were talking all panels removed, all doors, boot, bonnet, front & rear bars removed, strippped & sprayed seperately. That also includes all glass being popped out & the whole car sanded back.

2-3K for a mask up job (maybe front & rear windows & lights out) but all other bits stay on the car.

900.... would be a shady bloke from Bankstown doing it with a bucket of dulux & blowing it on through a Macca's straw....

If its just body panels like front & rear bars you want painted - take them with you & your car to a panel shop - any good shop can match the paint on your car to what going to be sprayed on the bars. - even if your paintwork is faded or has 'orange peel' effect on it. A good panel shop can match anything. I'd be pissed if a front bar cost me more than 3-400 to spray.

Kz, getting off track here from original topic but:

shue, im getting lost rding the group buy for the kits lol. Too many gibberish stuff (its gonna happen to this thread as well - haha)

So shue... how much for front bar with postage (melb) and how much is sideskirts (tm) with postage (melb) in that group buy?

Btw, the bozz and pre T looks RLY similar on Jay's site.

Im interested in that aqua colored FTO front bar and side skirt.

and thats the ts replica with dc skirts
Image

the bozz is lower that the t's and the t's or indys relica is basically a dc blend with the centre bar removed

heres the pricing if we make the 15+ as jay wants
front bar 140 pounds which is $335
tm side skirts 75 pounds which is $180
tm rear aprons 50 pounds which is $120

postage to melb 100$ for front bar and skirts which is 240$
if your gettin rear aprons as well im not too sure, jay could clarify that for u
which aqua car are u talking about?
