Which model of KYB shockers?

Gâ€™Day All,

I am trying to source KYB shockers (with struts) for my FTO. Choosing this brand because I heard good things about it in the forum.

Now, I donâ€™t want to get too sophisticated by buying some kinda adjustable setup. Simply because, I know that I will never bother to adjust the setup. As a result, KYB AGX option is not considered.

So, I just want better shockers with struts then the original stock ones.

I also have limited timing. As my tires are dangerously bold, will do the shockers, tyres, rims, and bushes all in the same time.

I have been in touch with KYB Australia, asking which model/series, however, they have no entry in their reference booklet for FTO.

I know Mitsiman has advertised KYBâ€™s, however, I havenâ€™t been able to get answers for model number yet.

Can anyone please help me, which KYB shockers are compatible into FTO?

Which shockers am I buying, for around $500? Front and back with struts. No need for an adjustable setup.

Because work have blocked my phone from ringing out of state.

By the time I get home UAS would be closed.

Back to the topic though, what's a good height for springs?
What height would put the top of the wheels (17" 215/45) just out of the guards?

Max why don't you go to few different suspension places & ask them opinion on Lancer or EVO suspension (since they are similar to FTO) & you can decide which one you want.

Sorry but i can't really help you on "stocky" type of suspension.

Are you saying that Lancer and EVO shockers are interchangable with FTO's?

My dilemma is that many shocker manufacturers doesnt even have an entry for FTO in their product table.

So, maybe some advice on which model/year cars have exactly same shockers as FTO's would help me.

I can go back to a suspension place and ask for a quote.

Now, this page does not specify anything about front shockers, however, product code 8287 assigned to rear shockers called â€œ8287 Comfort Gas Shockâ€

Sorry to get back to you so late, but i was told by few people that CE Lancer suspension are very similar to the FTO, & thats why i tell you to ask the suspension people about them, as it will give you some indication of what the ride going to be.

RPW now sell KYB Shocks for the FTO.

I have talked with David from RPW, and he confirmed that they use KYB replacement struts (Excel-G series) for FTOs.

However, he didnâ€™t want to give me the model number of the KYBâ€™s so I can purchase from Melbourne, rather then posting from WA.

I will take the car to Bursons on the weekend. Although, I had a chat before with them, and they have no clue for KYBs on FTOs, who knows.

I am really frustrated with this shockers issue!
