yeah, we call em abalone here. they had some New Zealanders caught last time on that show and apperently its worth like $10 each so those couple of hundreds that u saw last night, would brought them a few grand.

but man, there are really tasty!

Well it sure as hell wasn't me!

You're thinking of Paua - a native shellfish of this country.

You shouldn't really be surprised to see an FTO on a NZ TV programme - there's hundreds of the bloody things over here!

And you guys must be getting really desperate for quality TV if you're buying our TV shows - do you get Shortland St at all, quality drama that it is?

It's gone :( - now carless...

haha.. i saw that episode too.. thr poor buggers were lucky that they hid that last stash so well in the water, because they would have all been fined for sure.

It's called abalone here and its an asian delicacy. Sells for hundreds a kilo (dried). Paua is the Kiwi term for it.

I was watching a few episodes a go and the people were hiding them in their engine bays :)

Yeah, I saw this too at the gym so there wasn't any sound but the FTO was in it a few times.

Also last night I was watching that NZ highway patrol show and as the cop was going to the Mitsi 4x4 on fire, he passed a silver FTO. I've got good eyes. 8O
